I thought it was fog!
This Saturday was a bit of a lazy one since we had a little
bit of schoolwork and cleaning to catch up on. We somehow both slept the
morning away and woke up close to noon. So there goes our Saturday basically.
The only things we had on our agenda for the day was church and the Sydney
Harbour Fireworks so we knew we weren’t on a time crunch. However, whenever we
sat down to have breakfast together we realized that our plans might be
changing once the sky literally fell open. This was the first time we have
truly seen it rain in Sydney, or should I say downpour! This got Riley really
excited since he has been waiting for it to rain the whole time we’ve been
here. It only goes the annoying Charlotte spitting rain, never a down pour. It
was so bad that we could barely see the buildings on the other side of the
road! We realized that maybe we wouldn’t be going to see fireworks after all
that night. So right then and there it was decided that it was going to be a
Rainy Saturday and one that we could spend indoors. I would like to say we did
something totally fun at my apartment to pass the time, but schoolwork probably
got the best of us. It was church time before we knew it, including the 15
minute walk. We wanted to check out the church that we had previously liked
because the priest was so funny and personable, but unfortunately it was a
different one. I’m pretty convinced that he gave the abbreviated version of the
mass, but we were out of there in record time. Like I said, our plan was to eat
dinner and head to the Harbour, but we both agreed that it was just cold and
rainy of a night to try and rush down there to possibly not even see the
fireworks. We promised ourselves that we would make it there on another
Saturday night and relaxed for the evening which is what Riley secretly wanted
anyways. But luckily he made me some real chicken parmesan which was delicious
as always.
