She had another lecture she couldn't get out of.

With the entire day free until our night class we knew that we were going to have an adventure of some kind. We had thoughts of going to the beach, but the morning started out being cloudy so we decided to change our minds. We don’t think we can handle another cloudy, windy day on a beach in Sydney. We tossed around a couple of ideas but decided to stay close by and explore the Sydney Fish Markets that were apparently right down the street. We grabbed our penny boards and found the markets at the end of our street just like people had said!

We prepared ourselves for the fishy smells and ventured inside. This was our first time at a fish market so we didn’t really know what to expect, especially with what would be a good price. I know that Riley was on a hunt for some fresh tuna while I was more interested in the salmon since I’ve never cooked that myself. Riley unfortunately didn’t find any tuna and the salmon seemed too expensive, so we’re going to do a little bit of research before we do any buying. However, it was really cool to see the variety of fish that comes from the harbor and surrounding areas. I think the most unfortunate one was the mini octopus. I don't think I could eat it because of its cute, mini size but I definitely couldn't eat a big octopus since they just looked too slimy. Not being able to handle the fishy smells anymore we headed off towards the harbor to find a good spot for lunch. We ended up very close to the Sydney Aquarium and wax museum called Madame Tussauds. There was a statue of Leonardo Dicaprio outside so that’s one picture we were able to get.

There is a combo pass where you can visit 3 or 4 of Sydney’s biggest attractions for $80 or an unlimited pass for $100. We’re thinking about spending some of our money on one of these, but haven’t decided which is the better deal since some of the additional attractions are outside of Sydney and would require additional transportation. It also doesn’t include some of the more expensive things like the Sydney Eye Tower. Just to go in the aquarium or wax museum is $22 per person though! Don’t even get me started about the IMAX Theater, but it’s the biggest one in the world so we figured we gotta at least watch one film there! Right next to the max museum was the Wildlife Sanctuary and lo' and behold there were the cutest Koala Bears outside just sitting in the trees! At least I didn't think they were real because they were moving around so much but sure enough they were. Obviously I wanted to go see more of them inside so their little advertising tactic worked very well.

While running one day we had come across a really awesome park and wanted to go explore that more and ended up settling for lunch. There were kids everywhere! It was nice just watching kids run around, for me anyways, but I know Riley enjoyed the Italian/French music that was being performed in the background a little better. We knew we couldn’t hold ourselves back anyway so we let out our inner childness by sliding down this giant slide and taking a swing on one of those zipline things. We quickly realized that its not as fun anymore now that we’re all grown up which kinda crushed our dreams. Almost exhausted from the day’s adventures already we made our way back into the city. I decided to take a nap before our night class while Riley did some internet surfing. This was our last Tuesday night Outdoor Education class and for that we were excited! We figured that we would just be doing a debrief of the weekend trip, but there were also a few more tutorial presentations to sit through. Luckily we had plans to go to another trivia night with our friend Niell, so we skipped out a little early. Hey, not our fault that the class went over the allotted time anyways! We made the short journey to the Rose Hotel and ended up having to wait about 20 minutes for trivia to start. First we had to find a table though in this overly crowded pub. Apparently you can actually call ahead and reserve a table for trivia night which we don’t exactly agree with. The trivia at this pub was fairly easy and some questions were worth a lot of points and/or had multiple answers. This made for a more interesting game, but with 22 teams competing you can imagine that the place got a little loud and chaotic. We were practically yelling at each other to just have a casual conversation. There were also side bar questions when the host would give our free chocolate! Unfortunately we didn’t win any. With that many teams competing the trivia night lasted a lot longer than expected, especially since we had decided to save our appetites and eat afterwards. That was definitely a bad decision and not one we’ll do again I don’t think. Needless to say we did not come anywhere close to the top 3 teams of the night and we left quickly after the final tally. Dominos was calling our name, but we managed to not finish the whole pizza in one sitting this time.
