Attack of the Magpie

We thought sleeping in late would be the reward for conquering the Blue Mountains this past weekend, so Lauren took advantage of that while I went to an early class. I also thought about sleeping in, but since I was planning on skyping my friend Jeremiah, I thought it would be better just to go ahead and get it out of the way. My anthropology class was rather boring like always, but luckily it flew by! Within no time, I was setting up my computer and logging onto Skype. He wasn’t on for the first couple of minutes, but he showed up and soon we were talking about sports and everything. It was nice to talk to him since it was the first time that I actually talked to my friends back home. Lauren joined me about halfway through and decided to write in her journal since she was getting a little behind. I was already done for the day so I decided to head off to Paddy’s Markets to see if they were open since someone said they were on a holiday weekend. Whenever I arrived to Paddy’s Markets I was bummed to see that they were closed, but I wasn’t going to go all the way out there for nothing! I always wanted to go explore the shops that were above Paddy’s just because Lauren always said that there was a Coles up there. I never thought that there could be so many shops in such a small place, and nice shops at that! I didn’t really see anything that caught my eye since all of the shops were for either girls’ clothing or shoes so I headed back to the university in hopes to catch Lauren. As I arrived back to the uni, Lauren had already gone to class, so I sat on the benches outside of the Quad where I met this girl who was getting attacked by a magpie.

Bird doing the attacking
The bird kept getting closer and was squawking extremely loud, so she decided to move over to my bench. We talked for a little bit about how US and Australia differ, but it turns out that pretty much the only things that differ are the prices and the food. We soon departed ways as I was heading back to make dinner for Lauren. We were having grilled chicken salads which were amazing again. We decided to keep our night free and have a nice relaxing night.
