Today was actually a public holiday
because it is the celebration of the first Queen’s birthday. That meant a lot
of places were closed or had short hours and almost everybody was off of work.
However, that didn’t mean they were out in the city since it was pretty gloomy,
cold and rainy. We didn’t really have anything special planned for this holiday
since it kinda snuck up on us and we barely knew the significance of it
anyways. All we knew was that they kinda treat it like Labor Day with all the 3
day shopping deals. In order to stay dry we had to stay indoors for most of the
day until 4 o’clock rolled around and we ventured down the street to Neill’s
place for boardgames. We had decided we’d start earlier in the day so we could
get more playing in, since he was off from work as well. We stuck with the
usual game of Dominion since there are so many expansions and different
variations to the games. Neill has informed us that we have only seen about 40
percent of all the playing cards which is mind blowing since we have played it
quite a bit! Riley and I are still trying to get our strategies down and figure
out what cards are best to collect so Neill triumphed as usual. We have started
a new tradition of ending the night with Cluedo where Riley shocked us all
(even himself) and ended up with the winner again. We had joked that the winner
would be able to take home the trophy but Riley had forgotten about this until
we were already out the door.
