Skyping with my family has become a constant thing
throughout my journey here in Australia, but one that I look forward to. I like
being reminded of my family back home and keeping up to date on their events.
Today’s session with my older sister, Tiffany was great! We manage to always
fill an almost two hour talk with just about anything and everything. When
Riley asked how it went and what we talked about I had no idea where to begin!
Not that I shared much with him ;) Riley was supposed to have his make up
review session this morning, but when he arrived in the normal classroom there
was no one in sight. This was a little frustrating for him since he had been
anticipating this, having gone all the way to the university, but it was
alright since it meant he was officially done with classes! The review would
have been nice since he has an exam for this class in about two weeks but the
teacher always said that the questions would come off the weekly review section
in the textbook so I don’t think he’ll have a problem. After a quick run and
enjoying my morning to get ready without being rushed, I made my way to the
university with a packed lunch. We met up at the library and decided to eat our
lunch outside since it wasn’t too unbearably cold. I had creative arts on my
mind though and knew that I had to finish my reflective blog today so within
twenty minutes we were back inside and on the computers. Thankfully Riley agreed
to look over all my entries and make sure the all made sense. When I was happy
enough with it we left the university to head back and upload my final pictures
to the blog. I was able to turn it in hours before the deadline which was an
improvement from the last assignment. This also means that I am officially done
with University of Sydney but don’t know if I have any newfound knowledge to
prove that I studied abroad for a semester. Somehow I once again got lucky with
not having any exams, but I won’t rub it in Riley’s face too much! With just a
few hours to kill before dinner we decided to take the short walk to the
markets to wander around. We have found a shortcut to the back of the markets
which has proven to be very useful! Like usual the markets were hectic with
lots of yelling and pushy salespeople so we didn’t stay long. We were both
starving and wanted to get back soon to start making our fish sandwiches. They
turned out to be a little greasier than normal which took away from us trying
to be healthy. We didn’t have much on our agendas after that so we just took a
relax night since Saturday was already planned out to be quiet the packed day.
We had high hopes to watch Despicable Me, but it wasn’t the movie that I had in
mind. Riley enjoyed it though; I think he’s turning into an animation lover.
